Cognitive Neuroscience,
Visual Perception & Memory
What neural mechanisms underpin our ability to recognise different people, places and objects, and how do these visual processes interact with our long-term and episodic memories?
Our research combines neuroimaging, neurostimulation & computational modelling to understand how the brain makes sense of our complex visual environment. Our current works focuses on 1) the functional role that positive and negative population receptive fields play in integrating external sesnory information with internally generated representations (e.g., memory) and 2) the neural mechanisms underpinning aphantasia - a self reported lack of mental imagery.
